Brand. new. growth. This was the mantra that rang the offices of the agency. Wolff Olins is a brand and innovation business. We work with ambitious clients to challenge convention, and achieve spectacular growth.

From design to production, to new business, PR/marketing, to strategy, Wolff Olins has some of them most crazy smart talent and inspiring folks in the business.

I developed brand-led innovation and disruptive marketing strategy for accounts in online, mobile, consumer electronics, and retail. I also helped manage the digital and social media presence, and contributed to fresh thinking to the Wolff Olins blog. Follow the blog here.

Recognizing the world and culture your customers live in is integral to building your brand or your product. As a strategist, I believe in creating products and businesses that market themselves. An integrated approach to product design and marketing starts with cultural and consumer research.

It has led to new beginnings at AOL where I will help lead the way to a new era of the AOL brand.

We empower clients and partners with the insights and tools they need to create innovative, highly targeted mobile campaigns.

I am contributing writer and trends analyst at MobileBehavior, a marketing, advertising and media consultancy focused on the mobile consumer. Part of the Omnicom network, the agency empowers clients and partners with the insights and tools they need to create innovative, highly targeted mobile campaigns.

The mobile phone is absolutely one of the most personal gadgets to us. A discrete pod, as reliable as a 15″ laptop, and with superb wireless capability, it’s a powerful gadget that connects us to the world. It gives us directions when we’re lost, enables us to reach our friends and our global network, and never fails to capture a photographic moment to send instantly to friends on Facebook or Twitter. GPS allows us to check in Foursquare or Gowalla. (Choose your weapon of distraction.)

I am deeply interested and immersed in mobile because of its fascinating the human element, how it changes our social behavior and how it helps us achieve our goals. I am passionate about how mobile influences our daily actions and even more so how it transcends from culture to consumer to an overall brand behavior. Mobile is the future whether you choose to believe it our not.

Here is a shortlist of my contributions to MobileBehavior. Check in for more later.

The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA)

Creating the marketing proposal for the DAN GRAHAM: BEYOND exhibition was a multi-faceted undertaking and I had to opportunity to work with other departments in the museum. I collaborated closely with MOCA Curator Bennett Simpson and Exhibition Research Assistant Christine Robinson to represent this ground-breaking structural artist in his first national exhibition. I developed the exhibition overview to include the introduction, biography, highlights, and key works of the artist. This involved creating the copy and arranging the layout for the imagery, captions, use of typography, and artwork.

Collaborating closely with Development, we created the branding, marketing, and public relations strategy for the national exhibition. I created the sponsorship overview to present the museum’s branding and event opportunities to the client. While working independently on this project, I have also worked closely with Design, Production, Education, and Marketing departments to secure complete information and compose various sections of the proposal.

A closer look at the LReport includes pattern recognition of style and product design trends. Recognizing the world and culture your customers live in is integral to building your brand or your product. As a strategist, I believe in creating products and businesses that market themselves. An integrated approach to product design and marketing starts with cultural and consumer research.

The LReport was created to share this research with our active clients. Key features include the Mind Shift, Style Movements, Top 10 Style Brands, and City Snapshots. The Style Panel Survey produced in collaboration with Surface Magazine provided quantitative analysis to support the findings of our cultured consumer.

Producing the New York and Tokyo LReport involved interviews, ethnographies, and research of selected influencers in the art, design, fashion, and technology and electronic industries. The interviews provided insight in how people lived, what they desired, and what key purchases they made in their city.

I composed a series of features spanning fashion, technology, restaurants, local hangout, entertainment, shops, and spirits.
